Taylor Rose’s new charity partner for 2024/2025: The Elliot Project

News
13th Dec 2024

We are thrilled to announce our new charity partner for 2024/25: The Elliot Project. This remarkable charity was founded by the family and friends of Elliot Hennel, who tragically lost his battle with mental health issues in 2020.

The Elliot Project is dedicated to raising mental health awareness and providing mental health first aid training across the UK, free of charge. Their goal is to equip individuals and communities with the knowledge and skills to assist those facing mental health challenges and crises. By empowering people through education, The Elliot Project is making a vital difference in the fight against mental health stigma and supporting those in needs.

Every year our Social & Charity Committee asks staff to nominate a vote for a new charity partner with a wide range of selections. This year, we saw an overwhelming response with the decision being incredibly close, reflecting on the importance and impact of each charity.

In recognition of this, we are proud to continue our tradition of making donations to the runners up. This year, those worthy causes are:

  1. 1.       The Sick Children’s Trust – Supporting families with sick children in hospital by providing free accommodation, so they can stay close to their child during treatment.

  2. 2.     The Brain Tumour Charity – The largest UK charity dedicated to brain tumour research, aiming to improve the quality of life and survival chances for those affected.

  3. 3.       The Dwarf Sports Association – Promoting sport and physical activity for people of short stature, ensuring inclusivity and opportunities for all.

Louisa Bazett, Partner & Secretary of the Social & Chairty Committee said: “We are so pleased that The Elliot Project has been selected by staff and consultants to the annual charity partner this year. The work they do is truly important. “

She continued: “We all know friends, family and colleagues who have struggled with and are continuing to struggle with their mental health, but the Elliot Project goes further seeking to educate and bring awareness to the plight of those who are struggling silently, and how crucial it is to being able to bring help and support to them as well.  We look forward to working with The Elliot Project over the coming year!”

Abi Horner from The Elliot Project said: “Taking the #the extra mile, in providing Mental health awareness, changing stigma and supporting those battling mental ill health.”

She continued: “We are forever grateful for being chosen as your charity partner and look forward to upcoming challenges / activities and meeting lots of new people. “

We are looking forward to fundraising and supporting The Elliot Project in their mission to provide free mental health awareness and mental health first aid training across the UK.
